January 2016 – Through the JJRNEF Fund, BECAA paid in full the 2016 West African Examination Council (WAEC) fees for all twenty-six 12th graders enrolled at the Bong Mines Central High School (BMCHS) in Bong Mines, Liberia. A commitment that will continue. WAEC is similar to the High School Exit exams in most U.S. states.
The late Dr. Julene Jarrett Ricks Ngwayah Education Fund (JJRNEF) was officially launched by BECAA in July 2015 to honor the late Julene, one of the brightest and most educationally astute students ever produced by the institution. Julene graduated at the top of her class at the former Bong Town High School and went on to become a Board Certified Internist and Board Certified Endocrinologist in Indiana, USA. JJRNEF was established to raise funds that will be devoted to major projects of BECAA.
